The handle on the back helps push the child around when they are unable to push on their own. The handle could be a little longer though, an adult has to stoop over to help push. She loves to push the buttons over and over again to hear the music and watch the propeller spin. Also the handle on the back does help with walking skills, she loves to push it around on her own, as she is just learning to walk. Very durable, it has been pushed off the back porch a couple of times and still works great! Winnie the Pooh Tigger Activity Ride On (Hear the Exciting Music with light-up propellers!!)
