Star Wars 1997 The Power of the Force Action Figures Playset - Dewback and Exclusive Sandtrooper Figure with Battle Lance, Blaster Rifle and Backpack Review

I remember getting this Dewback when it first came out. It's a pretty decent creature, even though the head is disproportionately large. It's skin really feels scaly and reptilian. This was certainly the best Star Wars creature at the time. The sandtrooper fits in the saddle easily. There's now a new Dewback, the - Star Wars The Legacy Collection Dewback with Imperial Sandtrooper Exclusive Figure Set which is even better (but a bit more expensive). I like to think of them as different subspecies or a male and female.

Fisher-Price Go Diego Go My Talking Rescue Pack Review

Fisher-Price Go Diego Go My Talking Rescue Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First, the $30 is it listed for is not worth it! I know I paid a lot less than this when I purchased it from Amazon when it first came out.
My 2 1/2 year old (3 now) enjoyed playing with this when he first got it. It is nicely made and comes with a baby jaguar, a cast for the jaguar's foot, a plastic xray and stethascope. My son never plays with any of these things. He uses the backpack to carry around his own little "treasures".
The volume is a bit loud, but it's not that often that he presses for it to talk. He did have it talk and sing all the time when he initially got it. The novelty of a talking backpack wore off and he uses it primarily as a little tote.
Most toys like these will provide short term entertainment and my son will always go back to the trusty hot wheels cars and playdoh. For the price I paid for it, it was worth it to see how excited he was to get Diego's backpack. Plus, it sparked some imaginitive play which I enjoy seeing him do. For the price they're asking for it now($30)...I would have to say that I probably wouldn't purchase it.

Drueke 877.10 Magnetic Chess Set Review

Drueke 877.10 Magnetic Chess Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The great thing about this particular magnetic travel set is that if you have to leave before the game is over, you just put the lid on. So many other travel magnetic sets force you to take all the pieces off the board and store them inside the folding board. I use this one on the train on my way to work; I read an instructional chess book and follow along on this set. When the ride is over, I mark my spot in the book, put the lid on the set, and they both go in my backpack until the ride home. (the pieces don't move either, even after carrying my backpack around) The pieces are of a unique design with an octagonal base. Drueke (the company that makes these) refers to the pieces as "fully scaled". What this means is that they are all (except the pawns) about the same height, so that the most possible detail can be shown.
Like any nice set, the knights have great detail. They are really quite beautiful for a set in this range.
My only complaint is that the magnets are ever so slightly loose on a couple of pieces. (hence the 4 star rating for durability) This is a quality control issue that Carrom (parent company of Drueke) needs to address. When the magnet on my white queen finally gives out, I'm sure it will be easily fixed with a bit of super glue. Even knowing this, I would buy this set again in a heartbeat.
The only good alternatives that I can think of are some small magnetic and pegged wooden sets sold by House of Jaques on ebay, but they cost a lot more, and will surely not be as durable.
The case on this set is made of a very tough plastic. It is not brittle at all, and takes the beatings that it should with perfect grace. The playing surface is sheet steel (for good magnetic properties) finished in gold and black; very elegant. The magnets are glued directly onto the bottoms of the pieces; there is no felt to hinder the magnetism. This means that if you drag the pieces around instead of picking them up and moving them, the finish will be scratched over time. (I've read reviews of this set enduring 20 years of constant use before needing replacement)
For those of us who are used to playing with tournament sized sets and boards, the squares may seem a bit crowded. The pieces nearly fill up the squares. (just like nearly every other travel magnetic set) Tournament pieces and boards have plenty of room, even with a 3 3/4" size king. (square size = 2 1/4" square)
Most magnetic sets are really cheap Chinese things now. I don't know where this one is made, but they spent the same money to make a quality plastic set that they would have to make a crappy wooden one.

Zanybandz Pack of 24 Dragon Shaped Rubber Bands Glow-in-the-dark Review

Zanybandz Pack of 24 Dragon Shaped Rubber Bands Glow-in-the-dark
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Some folks have been saying that the Zany Bands fit the wrist a little too tight. I tested this set and they fit just fine. The circumference of my right wrist is 7 1/2 inches. This should help you as you make your decision.
As stated above, I love the tie dye look and the shapes are really cute to boot.
So if I am not a kid & I have really big wrists these should be just fine for most of the school kids that are trading them.
I do have a set of the Zany Band Sea Creatures & those do fit my wrist too tightly. But again, the school age kids should be just fine.

Yo Gabba Gabba Brobee Plush Backpack Review

Yo Gabba Gabba Brobee Plush Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received this awesome little guy on time, but he had a hole in the arm. I guess the armpit, really. Totally just missed the stitch, I guess. Anyhoo, I didn't complain, just sewed it up myself.
So I bought this guy for raving, and if you go hard at raves, this backpack is not gonna hold up to your thrashings. When I was done at Gettin' Lucky 5 in Seattle (O Event Center), the straps were almost completely torn off, held barely in place by little thin strands. A few more holes had been suffered, but at this point it was beyond my sewing ability.
Thankfully, i went home a few weekends ago and my mom offered to work her magic on it. Gave it to a friend as a gift.
Conclusion: good for looks, not good for thrashing/bashing.
And one should know that the pocket is really small. Not even a backpack, really. More like a plush brobee with straps and an accessory pocket. I fit my wallet, some cuffs, and car keys in there, but you honestly couldn't fit a normal sized water bottle in that thing.
