(More customer reviews)NJPIRG recently found that "a red area inside the smile of a cartoon face on a Dora the Explorer backpack, produced by Global Concept Design, contains 150,000 parts per million of a type of phthalate, a substance used to soften plastics that Weissman said has been connected to reproductive and developmental health defects. The federal government regulates some kinds of phthalates, but not the type used in the backpack."
This is not the same backpack used in the picture accompanying the article, but it is made by the same company, Global Concept Designs. Buyer beware.
